As a scab (Fusicladium, Schorfkrankheit) are especially at various fungal diseases rose family called, lead to the surface cracked sores.

Most important economically is the apple scab Venturia inaequalis , which attacks apples and pears. Potato scab ( Streptomyces scabies ) and silver scab ( Helminthosporium solani ) occur in potato growing .
