The Anvil Pond is a permanent zugefrorener freshwater tümpel in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is located west of Healy Trough and 1 km northwest of Rodriguez Pond in the so-called labyrinth in the west of Wright Valley .
The name goes back to the team of the United States Antarctic Program , which examined him between 2003 and 2004. It is named after a rock in the middle of the pool, which is reminiscent of an anvil ( English anvil ).
