The Ao Jiang ( Chinese  敖江, also 鳌江 , Pinyin Áo Jiāng  - "Ao River") is a river in the southeast Chinese province of Fujian . Its source is in the Jiufeng Mountains in the Gutian Township area . It flows through the communities of Luoyuan , Lianjiang , Xiaocang , Pandu , Aojiang and Fengcheng and then flows into the East China Sea ( Formosa Road ) between Pukou and Dongdai .

The Ao Jiang has a length of 137 kilometers and an area of ​​influence of 2,655 square kilometers. It is dammed in the area of ​​Xiaocang Township, creating the Shanzai Reservoir .
