Aoki Ōkami-tachi no Densetsu ( Japanese 蒼 き 狼 た ち の 伝 説 ) is an original pornographic video animation from 1996. It was produced by Phoenix Entertainment and belongs to the genres Yaoi and Mech .

The full title of the work is Ginga Teikoku no Metsubō Gaiden: Aoki Ōkami-tachi no Densetsu: Vol. 17-banme no Otoko ( 銀河 帝国 の 滅亡 ・ 外 伝 蒼 き 狼 た ち の 伝 説 VOL.17 番 目 の 男 , dt 'The Fall of the Galactic Empire': The Legend of the Blue Wolves: Vol. 17 - Men ”) and is also known internationally under the English title Legend of the Blue Wolves .

In the course of the 22nd century, mankind populated the entire solar system. But when exploring Pluto, one encounters an extraterrestrial form of life called the "Apocalypse". This uses people as a source of energy and knowledge for their fighting machines, which now threaten humanity. Elite soldiers are deployed to counter this threat.

These soldiers include Jonathan Tyberius and Leonard Schteinberg, who share a room in the barracks and initially do not get along. Confrontations with superiors and the soon following combat deployment let them get closer and they fall in love.

Production and publication

The 45 minute long anime was produced in 1996 by Phoenix Entertainment studio and directed by Yasunori Urata . The script was written by Yasunori Urata and Yasuhito Yamaki, the mecha design was developed by Makoto Kobayashi and the music was composed by Masamichi Amano. The role of Jonathan Tyberius was given by Takehito Koyasu , that of Leonard Schteinberg by Toshiyuki Morikawa . A sequel announced in the credits was planned, but was not implemented for financial reasons.

On December 18, 1996, the anime was released as an original video animation on VHS. In 2005 it was released on DVD. In 2005, Kitty Media published an English version and Yamato Video an Italian one. The OVA has also been translated into Russian.
