The mountain Apoi ( Japanese ア ポ イ 岳 , Apoi-dake ) is located in the Hidaka Mountains on the island of Hokkaidō in Japan near the city of Samani .
The 810 m high mountain is known among botanists for numerous plant species that only occur on Hokkaidō.
In 2015, the Apoi region was awarded the UNESCO Global Geopark label .
