The Apostadero y Atarazana, originally also known as Barracón de la Marina , is a building in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo .

The building, erected in 1776, is located in the Ciudad Vieja on Calle Zabala 1583 between Calle Piedras and Rambla 25 de Agosto de 1825 . Engineer Francisco Rodríguez Cardoso was responsible for the construction . While there was originally a naval station here from 1776 to 1816 (Apostadero Naval del Río de la Plata, Patagonia y Malvinas) and from 1816 to 1830 the customs (Aduana de Montevideo) and from 1830 to 1852 customs and post office (Aduana y Servicio de Correos) were settled, the premises of the Museo del Descubrimiento were last here . The eight-meter-high, two-story building has been empty since 2009.

Since 1975 the building has been classified as the Monumento Histórico Nacional .
