Apple Design Award

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Apple Design Award ( ADA , German: Apple Design Award ) is an award for innovative software and hardware for Apple Mac and the iPhone mobile phone . It is awarded annually by Apple to independent developers in various categories - including, for example, particularly innovative apps - at the Worldwide Developers Conference .

The award has been around since 1998; in the first two years under the name “Human Interface Design Excellence Award”. In allusion to both the acronym HIDE and Heidi Roizen , then Vice President of World Wide Developer Relations at Apple responsible for relationships with developers, the award was also called "Heidi" during this time (corresponding to the Oscar ).

As a symbol of the award, the award winners receive a cube with an Apple logo that lights up when touched.
