WWDC 2006

The Worldwide Developers Conference (often abbreviated as WWDC ; German  worldwide developer conference ) is a conference organized annually by Apple in California in the agglomeration of San Francisco , which is primarily aimed at software developers for macOS , iPadOS , iOS as well as the developers of watchOS , whose major updates will be presented at that conference. In contrast, Macworld , which was discontinued in 2014, was aimed at end users . The conference starts with a keynote that Apple often uses to present future products, during which lectures and workshops are held.

The first WWDC in 1983 took place in Monterey , after which the venue changed several times, for example the Moscone Center in San Francisco was used several times , the keynotes for 2017-2019 were held at The McEnery Convention Center in San Jose. All participants must sign a confidentiality agreement ( English non-disclosure agreement , NDA ) sign. So far, this has also applied to the keynote, which Apple has also broadcast live on the web in some years and is now also available a few hours later on its website as a video stream .
