Scott Forstall

Scott Forstall (* 1969 in Washington ) is an American manager and computer scientist. He was responsible for the iOS operating system at Apple .

Forstall received a Masters in Computer Science from Stanford University in 1992 . He was an employee of NeXT , which was bought by Apple in 1996. He is considered one of the main developers of the OS X operating system and the Aqua user interface .

From 2007 he led the development of iOS and was appointed Senior Vice President in June 2008 .

Scott Forstall left Apple in 2013. Responsibility for the iOS operating system passed to Craig Federighi at the end of October 2012 , who was already responsible for the OS X operating system at the time .
