Aquilino Boyd
Aquilino Edgardo Boyd de la Guardia (born March 30, 1921 in Panama City , † September 4, 2004 in Panama City) was a Panamanian diplomat and national-conservative politician.
Boyd was a member of the Panamanian National Assembly from 1948 to 1969 and from 1962 to 1976, 1985 to 1978 and 1997 to 1999 Panama's permanent representative to the United Nations . He served as Panamanian ambassador to the USA from 1982 to 1985 and to Great Britain from 1994 to 1997. During his time as Foreign Minister of Panama (1976/77) the Torrijos-Carter Treaties between Panama and the United States on the future of the Panama Canal and the Panama Canal Zone were signed . In 1959 he founded the radical national-conservative Tercer Partido Nacionalista .
