Arístides González

Arístides González Ortiz (born February 12, 1961 ) is a retired middleweight boxer from Puerto Rico and bronze medalist at the 1984 Summer Olympics.

Career

Arístides González was 1.86 m tall during his competitive career and boxed in the middleweight division (up to 75 kg). At the 23rd Summer Olympics in Los Angeles in 1984 , he won against Otosico Havili from Tonga 4-1, Paulo Tuvale from Samoa 5-0 and Pedro van Raamsdonk from the Netherlands 4-1, before beating eventual Olympic champion Shin Joon in the semifinals -sup from South Korea lost 4-1 and ended up in third place.
