Aram Merangulyan

Aram Artemowitsch Merangulyan (born June 8, 1902 in Chananab , † November 17, 1967 in Yerevan ) was an Armenian composer and conductor.

Merangulyan led folk music groups from 1922 to 1926. In 1926 he became artistic director of the folk instrumental ensemble of the Armenian Broadcasting Committee. In 1943 he completed the composition class of VG Talyana at the Yerevan Conservatory . In 1959 he was honored as a People's Artist of the Armenian SSR.
