Aranka Fodor
Aranka Fodor ( May 3, 1885 in Budapest - December 19, 1931 in Graz ) was a Hungarian opera singer ( alto / mezzo-soprano ).
Life
From 1907 to 1919 Fodor was the first contralto at the Budapest Court Opera. Despite her heavy, darkly timbred alto voice, she was also able to sing mezzo-soprano parts, such as the " Carmen ", the "Azucena" in the troubadour or the "Amneris" in Aida, thanks to the exciting drama of her performance .
In 1910 she took part in the Hungarian premiere of Strauss's opera Elektra as “Klytämenstra” alongside Teréz Krammer .
After ending her stage career in 1919, she continued to work as a concert singer and vocal teacher.
