Employment Office of the German-speaking Community of Belgium

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Employment Office of the German-speaking Community of Belgium (abbreviated ADG) is responsible for the employment and training of the German-speaking community in Belgium . It has a function similar to the Vlaamse Dienst voor Arbeidsbemiddeling en Beroepsopleiding (VDAB) in Flanders and FORmation-EMploi (FOREM) in the Walloon Region and helps job seekers to find a job or a suitable training position.

description

The ADG was set up by a decree of the then Council of the German-speaking Community (today: Parliament of the German-speaking Community ) on January 1, 2000 and is thus significantly younger than the VDAB in Flanders and Wallonia FOREM, which was set up in the late 1980s were. Until the establishment of the ADG, FOREM was also responsible for the German-speaking Community of Belgium.

The choice of the name was guided by the terminology used in Germany at the time, where it was later renamed to Agentur für Arbeit .

The ADG is semi-governmental. That is, it has legal personality and is managed by a board, but under the supervision of the government of the German-speaking Community of Belgium.

The ADG has a placement office in Eupen , Kelmis and Sankt Vith , a contact point in Büllingen and four vocational training centers in Eupen and Sankt Vith.
