The Arbeitsgemeinschaft Telegrafie eV (AGCW-DL) is a German telegraph club based in Hanover . With around 3970 members (as of July 2017) it is the largest European telegraph club . The members are mostly resident in Germany , but also in neighboring countries.

Goals, tasks and activities

The association supports the amateur radio operation in the operating mode Morse code telegraphy and the application to classify the Morse code telegraphy as an intangible cultural heritage . He supports interested parties in learning how to operate radio using Morse code. This also includes practical skills in using the Morse code. Together with other amateur radio associations, he lobbies at the amateur radio round table . A competition program promotes active radio operation and the utilization of the amateur radio bands.

At the annual meeting of the association, members and interested parties are offered a lecture program on technical and amateur radio topics in addition to the social part. As part of this event, the German Amateur Radio Club eV (DARC) holds its competitions for the German Telegraph Cup .

Publications

The AGCW-DL broadcasts a weekly broadcast in Morse code on shortwave . The broadcasts are also published on the association's website. The club magazine AGCW-Info appears every six months .
