Working group for technical and operational questions of numbering and network interconnection

The working group for technical and operational questions of numbering and network interconnection ( AKNN ) is an industry body of telecommunications companies in Germany.

History and composition

The AKNN met for the first time in 1997 against the background of the liberalization of the German telecommunications market .

Members of the AKNN entitled to vote are operators of public telecommunications networks. In addition, manufacturers of hardware and software for the telecommunications industry and the Federal Network Agency are also represented in the AKNN.

Purpose and way of working

The AKNN develops and approves specifications for the German telecommunications market that apply to all providers and manufacturers. One focus here is the operation and processes in the fixed network, where coordinated action by the company is necessary. The members form sub-working groups for the respective specialist topics.
