Place of work (street)

Job on a street

A job is a road traffic area that is temporarily closed to traffic in whole or in part. The reason for the cordoning off can be work on the road itself (such as road rehabilitation) as well as work of all kinds in, next to, under or above the road (such as sewer construction, green maintenance or surveying work).

This area must be appropriately secured in order to protect the road user and the people working at the work site. Basically, jobs of shorter duration (so-called day construction sites ) and jobs of longer duration (so-called permanent construction sites ) can be distinguished.

In any case, a traffic law order must be requested from the relevant road traffic authority. According to the traffic sign plan specified in the approved arrangement , the work site must be secured until it is vacated. The job security system must be checked at regular intervals.
