Arben Spahiu

Arben Spahiu (* 1966 in Peshkopi ) is an Albanian violinist and deputy concertmaster in the orchestra of the Bavarian State Opera .

Education and family

He received his first violin lessons at the age of six at the Tiraner Musikgymnasium with Roland Xhoxhi . After several prizes and concerts in his home country, the state scholarship enabled him, as the only Albanian, to continue studying in the master class of Franz Samohyl at the Musikhochschule in Vienna (today: University of Music and Performing Arts ), where he received his diploma with excellent results completed.

Musical activities

Spahiu has been first violinist since 1994 and deputy concertmaster in the orchestra of the Bavarian State Opera since 1996 . He won several prizes, including first prize at the Anton Bruckner Competition, which he shared with Julian Rachlin . After numerous appearances as a soloist with the Munich Symphony Orchestra , the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and the JSO Frankfurt , Spahiu was engaged by the Bavarian State Opera in Munich.

He is a founding member and first concertmaster of the Ambassade Orchestra Vienna, founded in 1998 .
