The Ambassade Orchestra Vienna is an Austrian orchestra .

The Ambassade Orchestra Vienna (AOW) was founded in 1999 by members of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra . Violist Michael Buchmann and Alexander Kaspar, the ensemble's impresario, intended to re-emphasize the entertaining element in classical music in a casual but natural and highly professional way.
Other Projects
South America
In South America, the orchestra played 24 open-air concerts, which turned out to be very successful. Up to 12,000 people attended each concert. A domestic flight incident sparked headlines. After the musicians left the plane at Salto / Uruguay Airport , it was completely destroyed a few minutes later by a huge explosion. This was taken as an opportunity to provide police protection for the orchestra in the future. Radio and press, etc. a. the ORF , reported daily on the performances and the private life of the artists. The repertoire ranged from Mozart and Brahms to works by the Strauss family . The highlights of the program were the tango “ La Cumparsita ” and the original composition “Uruguay”.
The orchestra also went on tours abroad. a. in the USA, in the Arab region and Japan as well as in various European countries.
Crossover
With the groove machine Hot Pants Road Club , the Ambassade Orchestra Vienna recorded the benefit single "Live For The Moment" in Christian Kolonovits ' studio. The number was performed on May 19 at the Life Ball 2002 on Vienna City Hall Square.
Film music
The Ambassade Orchestra Vienna, in collaboration with the Wiener Konzerthaus and Jeunesse , offered a cinematic experience on March 22nd, 2003. The musicians played Charlie Chaplin's original music live for selected Charlie Chaplin films (The Kid & The Idle Class). The guest conductor was Helmut Imig .
Jose Carreras
The concert with tenor Jose Carreras took place on March 31, 2005 on a horse and camel track in Dubai. There were further concerts in the Arab region, as well as the CD production "Mediteranian Passion / Jose Carreras and Ambassade Orchestra Vienna".
Ambros sings Moser
Peter Steinhardt, the trumpeter of the Ambassade Orchestra Vienna, re-recorded well-known Moser songs with Wolfgang Ambros . Christian Kolonovits presented the orchestra and Wolfgang Ambros with the first gold CD for this project after a sold out concert at the Vienna Musikverein . Further concerts followed, as well as being awarded platinum and another CD recording. "Ambros sings Moser - the 2nd" was also awarded gold.
Monte Carlo
At the Monaco Grand Prix the Ambassade Orchestra Vienna played on May 27, 2006 a. a. before David Coulthard , Gerhard Berger , George Lucas and Kevin Spacey . Under the direction of Christian Kolonovits , the Superman Suite was presented for the presentation of the new Superman trailer.
Japan tour
During the concert tour through Japan, which included Tokyo, Kyoto and the Kamigamo-Jinja Shrine (a shrine that only the emperor and the musicians of the orchestra were allowed to enter with shoes), there was cooperation with the Japanese rock band "Quruli". The band, consisting of seven musicians, has been one of the most famous rock formations in Japan for about 10 years. The band was accompanied by the Ambassade Orchestra Vienna at two sold-out concerts in the Pacifico Center Yokohama, and the resulting recordings were released on CD and DVD in 2008.
Sarah Brightman
In January 2008 the live DVD " Sarah Brightman - Symphony" was produced in Vienna's St. Stephen's Cathedral under the direction of Hannes Rossacher.
Willi Weitzel
The Ambassade Orchestra Vienna recorded Sergej Prokofiev's musical fairy tale “ Peter and the Wolf ” with Willi Weitzel , the reporter from the children's knowledge program “ Willi wills Wissen ”. The CD-DVD box was released in summer 2010 and contains the CD as well as a DVD on which Willi Weitzel explains in a child-friendly way how the music is put on the CD and introduces each instrument individually in the chapter on instruments.
