criticism

Orpheus, Attila - criticism: “So it was reserved for the 27-year-old Vesselin Stoykov as the only one not to sell his vocal cords on the ramp, but to hold up the flag of really cultivated singing. It was amazing how expressively the young singer was able to shape the title role into a presentable character. Thanks to his flexible, elegantly managed basso cantante, the dream scene turned into a highlight of the evening. "

Opernglas, Don Giovanni review: “Vesselin Stoykov, who showed the required facets and nuances in the title role, is representative of all of them. Dressed in black, an expansive hat adorned with fine black feather down on his head, which underlined his intangibility and which he only took off in the last minutes of his life, then unprotected from death as the last communication partner, everything exhausted. Stoykov's velvety, powerful baritone voice, flexibly led, still capable of development in depth, combined with acting talent and sensitivity, was the ideal embodiment of the multi-layered figure. It is hard to believe that the 35-year-old German-Bulgarian is also general manager of the opera in Stara Sagora, which burned down in 1991 and is now in the process of being rebuilt, that he is devoting himself to this grueling task with passion and gently and successfully.
