The Hot Pants Road Club is an Austrian funk and soul band founded in 1992.

history

The band Hot Pants Road Club was founded in 1991 by the brothers Andreas, Christian and Franz Roitinger. After an experimental phase with Andreas Roitinger and Peter Mayr as the band's singers, an 11-piece Funk & Soul orchestra established itself in a second founding phase with Andreas Gabauer and Diana Jirkuff as the two lead singers under the new management of Peter Mayr. This was followed by tours, the production of the first CD Lifetime with trombonist Fred Wesley as a guest musician, the Ö3 hit Snatching it Back (1993), a sponsorship deal with O'Neill Sportswear and a record offer from Sony Records. In 1994 Peter Mayr left the band.

After a creative break between 2003 and 2005, the band was active again in 2008. In October and November 2008, Hot Pants Road Club toured Austria together with an 8-strong wind player under the name of Hot Pants Road Club's Grand Funk Orchestra .

The album Uh la la followed in 2012 , and after a line-up in 2015, the band currently consists of seven musicians. Most recently she released the album Funk is Our Mission in 2017 .
