Archebuleus
The Archebuleus (Greek. Archebouleion , hence Archebuleum is) in the ancient Verslehre one after the Hellenistic poet Archebulos named relatively rare aeolian verse with the metric scheme
- ◡◡ — ◡◡ — ◡◡ — ◡◡ — ◡——
According to Hephaestion, the verse consists of 4 anapasts and a Bacchius (on 4+ba), but the first two abbreviations would appear to be replaced by a length or a single abbreviation , so you actually have anzeps at the beginning:
- × —◡◡ — ◡◡ — ◡◡ — ◡——
The only verse recorded by Archebulos may not be authentic and is quoted to demonstrate meter. The verse can be found in Callimachus' engravings .
