The working group “Archives for Silesian Dialect in Baden-Württemberg was headed by the writer Erle Bach, who comes from Hirschberg . It was brought into being by her in 1982 after she was appointed to the regional cultural advisory board of the Landsmannschaft Silesia and was entrusted with the " Silesian dialect " department. Dialect friends from all over Germany work in the dialect research group. You have focused on the following tasks.

  • Creation of an archive about little known, almost forgotten dialect poetry with all information.
  • Dialect research with regard to the settlement history of the country, language bridges to other German landscapes.
  • Sound recordings / interview with Silesians who still think in Silesian ; Contemporary documents.
  • Publications on work results, lectures and recitations.

After the founder of the working group died on May 27, 1996, Friedrich-Wilhelm Preuss, who came from Schmiedeberg Quirl, took over the chairmanship of the working group, which celebrated its 35th anniversary in Wangen / Allgäu in 2017.

This work is part of the cultural work of the Landesverband der Landsmannschaft Silesia in Baden-Württemberg , financially supported by the Ministry of the Interior through the regional culture department of the Landsmannschaft Silesia, and also through donations from interested dialect friends.
