LVR archive advice and training center

The LVR archive advice and training center ( LVR-AFZ ) is based in Pulheim near Cologne in the buildings of the former Benedictine abbey of Brauweiler . It was founded in 1929 as the Rhineland archives advice center and is part of the Rhineland Regional Council .

The archive advisory center has the task of advising the non-governmental archives in the district on archiving issues. The spectrum of institutions to be supervised includes the archives of the Rhenish municipalities, the nobility, the economy, the churches as well as archives of associations, associations and foundations. As part of archive maintenance, the archive advisory center is responsible, among other things, for the depot of the United Aristocratic Archives in Rhineland eV

The LVR archive advisory center also issues archival publications and annually organizes the Rheinische Archivtag as a forum for the exchange of experiences among archivists.
