Archus, Herenaeus and Quartanus

Archus, Herenäus and Quartanus (also Arch, Haindrit and Gardan ) are known as "the three wretched saints " (from Middle High German ellende "coming from abroad, not native").

The relics of the three saints are kept in the St. Michael Church in Etting near Ingolstadt. Furthermore, Archus, Herenäus and Quartanus in Bodenwöhr (Upper Palatinate), in the Church of St. Michael in Oberbechingen (District Dillingen an der Donau), in the Church of St. Alban in Hürbel (District Biberach) and in the Church of St. Georg in Rechtenstein (Alb-Donau-Kreis) venerated as an English pilgrim.

The pilgrimage church “Three wretched saints” in Griesstetten, on the other hand, is dedicated to the equally “foreign” saints Zimius, Vimius and Marinus.
