Ardley Castle

Ardley Castle is a ruined castle in the south-west of the village of Ardley in the English county of Oxfordshire .

It is said to have been an illegally built castle during the reign of King Stephen . It was destroyed after 1154 at the behest of King Henry II . Today only an oval fence and a shallow moat are left.
