Argenis Mendez
Argenis Mendez (* 3. July 1986 in San Juan de la Maguana , San Juan , Dominican Republic as Argenis Méndez Alexander Zapata ) is a former Dominican boxer in the super featherweight and normal boom . He is trained by Virgil Hunter .

On March 9, 2013, Mendez competed against the Mexican Juan Carlos Salgado for the world championship belt of the IBF association and defeated him in the fourth round by classic knockout . He defended this title in August of the same year against the Afghan- born Canadian Arash Usmanee with a draw.
On January 3 of the following year he boxed against the undefeated Cuban Rances Barthelemy (19-0-0). The fight ended in a "no contest" after 12 rounds. Already on July 10th of the same year the rematch of the two took place, which Mendez lost by unanimous decision and was thus rid of the belt.
