Argyronisos ( pronunciation : [ arʝirɔnisɔs ], Greek Αργυρόνησος ( f. Sg. ), Silver Island ') is an uninhabited Greek island in the Strait of Artemisium (Στενό του Αρτεμισίου) that the Gulf of Euboea (Ευβοϊκός κόλπος) and the Malian Gulf connects with the Aegean Sea . The island belongs to the local community Achillio in the municipality of Pteleos in the municipality of Almyros in the Thessaly region .

The island is located about 3.5 km north of the island of Evia and about one kilometer south of Agios Dimitrios.

The most outstanding landmark on the island is the 7 m high lighthouse built in 1899 on the eastern cape of the island. To the north opposite is the entrance to the Pagasean Gulf . The Greek Ministry of Culture classified the tower as a historic monument in 2001.
