Argyll was a whiskey distillery in Campbeltown , Argyll and Bute , Scotland . It should not be confused with a second distillery of the same name, which was also operated in Campbeltown between 1827 and 1844 and is often referred to as McKinnon's Argyll after its founder to distinguish it.

The distillery was founded in 1844 by Robert Colvill and Hugh and Robert Greenlees under & Colvill, Greenless Co. firmierten. In 1920 it was first sold to Ainslie & Heilbron and then became the property of Distillers Company Ltd. ( DCL ) via. Like most of the Campbeltown distilleries, this operation closed forever in the 1920s. Today there is a gas station on the site.

When Alfred Barnard visited the distillery as part of his major whiskey tour in 1885, it had an annual production capacity of 40,000  gallons . There were two pot stills available with capacities of 1070 and 686 gallons, respectively. Barnard mentions that the water needed for mashing comes from the hole . In analogy to other distilleries in Campbeltown, it can be assumed that this refers to the Crosshill Loch .
