Arian Leka

Arian Leka (* 1966 in Durrës ) is an Albanian writer .

After graduating from high school, Leka first became a musician. He is a classically trained flautist and even today he occasionally plays at public concerts. He later studied Albanian language and literature in Tirana and new European literature in Florence .

Arian Leka lives and works in Tirana. So far (2009) he has published several volumes of poetry, short stories and a novel. He also works as a translator from Italian . In his hometown of Durrës he founded the poetry festival Poeteka , from which the literary magazine of the same name emerged, of which he is editor-in-chief and publisher.

Short stories and poems by Leka have been published outside Albania in various anthologies . a. in English, German and Italian as well as in Serbo-Croatian. In March 2009 Leka read from his works at the Leipzig Book Fair .
