Ariane is an apple variety that is marketed as a club variety .
The variety originated at INRA in 1979 . It is a cross of (Florina × Prima) with a seedling of a Golden Delicious . It has been on the list of varieties since 2002.
Ariane is resistant to apple scab .
In addition to its long shelf life in cold storage , Ariane is also characterized by a long shelf life.
The fruits are ripe for harvest around the end of September to the beginning of October.
The cream-colored flesh is juicy and firm. The basic color of the shell is greenish-yellow, the opaque color, on the other hand, is purple-red. The taste is aromatic and slightly acidic.
The variety is particularly produced in the Loire Valley , south-west France and the Rhone- Mediterranean basin.
