Ariel Lausarot

Ariel Lausarot Peralta (born October 22, 1952 in Colonia del Sacramento ) is a Uruguayan politician .

Ariel Lausarot is married and has three children. He studied law and social sciences, journalism and tourism. He worked as a teacher in secondary school and worked as a lecturer at the Universidad del Trabajo in Colonia.

Lausarot, a member of the Partido Colorado and belonging to the Foro Batllista sector , was the representative of the Department of Colonia in the 42nd legislative period from February 15, 1985 to February 14, 1990 for the Batllismo Unido Lista 15 and again in the 44 Legislative term from February 15, 1995 to February 14, 2000, holds a titular mandate as member of the Cámara de Representantes for the Foro Batllista Lista 2000 . During this time he was President of the Chamber from March 1, 1999 to February 15, 2000. He also held a mandate as deputy senator in the Cámara de Senadores several times in the 44th legislative period . This covered the periods from September 16, 1997 to September 29, 1997, from November 18, 1997 to November 24, 1997 and from July 14, 1998 to July 24, 1998.

1997 to 1998 he also worked as Coordinador de bancada des Foro Batllista. In 1985, 1988 and 1989 he was Vice-President of the Commission for Transport, Communication and Tourism in the Chamber of Deputies. In addition, he chaired the Commission for Industry, Energy, Mining and Tourism from 1995 to 1996 and was then Vice-President until 1997. Among other things, he was a member of the Budget Committee in 1998 and belonged to other commissions in the course of his parliamentary work. He was involved in a total of 24 legislative initiatives, seven of which were ultimately implemented. At the party level, he was a member of the departamental and national party convention of the Partido Colorado from 1985 to 1994, was its general secretary in his home department from 1995 to 2000, and at the same time was a member of the party's executive committee at national level.

From 1990 to 1993 he held the position of director of the Administración Nacional de Combustibles, Alcoholes y Portland (ANCAP). From 2001 to 2003 Lausarot was president of Banco Hipotecario del Uruguay .
