Arimantas Dumčius

Arimantas Dumčius (born January 4, 1940 in Kaunas ) is a Lithuanian doctor and former politician , professor .

Life

In 1941 Dumčius was expelled to Altaj with his family . After graduating from the Kupiškis Middle School in 1959 , he studied medicine at the Kauno medicinos institutas (KMI) in 1965 and received his doctorate in 1979. From 1965 to 2004 he was a surgeon at the Kaunas University Clinics . From 1966 to 2004 he taught at the KMI. 1986 became professor in cardiac surgery .

From 2002 to 2004 he was a member of the Kaunas City Council and from 2004 to 2016 a member of Seimas (member of the Health Committee, the Committee on Human Rights, the Committee on Education, Science and Culture).
