Aringo (Gau)

The Aringo was a Saxon district in the Middle Ages .

In the north it bordered the Gudingau , in the east on the Gau Flenithi , in the south on Wikanafeld and in the west on the Tilithigau . He belonged to the diocese of Hildesheim .

The Gau was in today's Hildesheim district . Associated places are Duingen , Föhrste , Alfeld and Rheden .
