Föhrste is a district of the city of Alfeld (Leine) and is located in the Hildesheim district in Lower Saxony .

geography

Föhrste is located in the Leinebergland about two kilometers south of the Alfeld town center. The village is located at around 90 to 130  m above sea level. NN a little east of the Steinberg ridge ( 300.3  m above sea level ), south-southeast of the Schlehberg ( 196.1  m above sea level ), east -south- east of the Humberg ( 211.8  m above sea level ) and north of the Nattenberg ( 171  m above sea level). NN ). The line flows northeast past the place.

history

The place Föhrste was first mentioned in a document in 742 as "Woresete".

Due to the territorial and community reforms that came into force in Lower Saxony on March 1, 1974, the town lost its independence and was incorporated into the town of Alfeld (Leine).

coat of arms

The design of the municipal coat of arms of Föhrste comes from the heraldist and coat of arms painter Gustav Völker , who designed all coats of arms in the Hanover region . The coat of arms was awarded on July 6, 1949 by the Lower Saxony Minister of the Interior .

Blazon : “A blue stake in a golden shield , covered with an upright silver Sachs with a golden handle. In front a green , awned ear of wheat , behind three interlocking blue cogwheels one above the other, of which the middle one is slightly larger. "
Reasons for the coat of arms: Based on the previous coat of arms , which was approved on October 18, 1938 and the reason given, the municipal council decided in 1948, while retaining the Saxon knife, but omitting the arm, a symbol each for the working classes of the village (ear = farmers, Wheels = working people).

Culture and sights

  • In the primary school building, built in 1905, around 70 children (as of 2006) from the districts of Imsen , Wispenstein and Föhrste are taught
  • Preschool kids come in branch gruff kindergarten called Under The Rainbow together
  • The church was built in 1827 on the site of its older predecessor in the center of the village

Economy and Infrastructure

The federal road 3 leads west past Föhrste , through the village in the section Alfeld− Wispenstein the district road 402. Since 1854 the railway line from Hanover to Göttingen runs through the place.
