Coat of arms of Röllinghausen
Blazon : "On silver a blue jay in natural colors sittingon a green oak branch that runs obliquely to the left."
Justification for the coat of arms: From time immemorial the vernacular referred to the Röllinghausener as "the Äxter" (= crows); the reason for this can no longer be fathomed. The inclusion of the jay in the village coat of arms proves how the inhabitants of the village understand their “ ternids name ”. The idea came from the village community and has been confirmed by the mayor in agreement with the municipal councils through resolutions.

Culture and sights

Buildings

  • The old church was down in the village where the parish garden is. It burned down on May 4, 1806 as a result of a lightning strike. From 1807, the new church was not rebuilt in the original place of the burned down church, but was given its new place in the middle of the village, on Hopfenberg . The patronage for the church was temporarily with the Counts of Wrisberg.
  • On the Hopfenberg , opposite the church, there is also the old shepherd's house.

Natural monument

  • The old linden tree in front of the church is the Friedenslinde from 1875, it was surrounded by a stone casing.
