Hermann Adolf Lüntzel

Hermann Adolf Lüntzel (born January 15, 1799 in Hildesheim ; † November 20, 1850 there ) was a German judicial councilor and historian. His work focused on the history of the city and monastery of Hildesheim .

Life

Hermann Adolf Lüntzel came from the Hildesheim patrician family Lüntzel . His father Christoph Friedrich Lüntzel (1749-1826) was mayor of the old town of Hildesheim and later a member of the state assembly of the Kingdom of Hanover . Hermann Adolf studied law and became a legal advisor at the judicial chancellery (regional court) Hildesheim.

The series of his regional historical publications began in 1830. In addition, as head of the poor administration college , he ordered the city's welfare system and campaigned for the preservation of art monuments. He was elected several times as a liberal in the Second Chamber of the Hanoverian Estates Assembly. In 1848 and 1849 he was a delegate in the Frankfurt National Assembly .
