Aristomenes (painter)
Aristomenes ( ancient Greek Ἀριστομένης ) was a Greek painter from Thasos .
He is only known from a mention by Vitruvius . He is named next to Polykles by Adramyttion and Nicomachus as one of the painters who would have earned great fame because of their talent, but who could not be known because of poverty, bad luck or failure in competitions.
Because of its origin, Aristomenes was often equated with Aristomachos or with Arimmas .
