Arkadiusz "Arek" Błacha (born January 13, 1971 in Brzeg , Poland ) is a former Polish handball player and has been a handball trainer since 2001 (initially as a player trainer ). He has been in charge of OHV Aurich since the 2013/14 season .
Player career
After stints in his Polish homeland, for whose national team Błacha played a total of 15 international A matches, the left-hander moved to Germany for the 1995/96 season for SG VTB / Altjührden . Until his departure in 2008 he scored more than 2000 goals for the 1st and 2nd team of the Frisians and has since become a key player in the backcourt. On the occasion of his departure, the management of SG VTB / Altjührden, meanwhile renamed HSG Varel-Friesland, announced that Błacha's shirt number 13 would no longer be awarded in future as recognition of his achievements. Błacha ended his active career at VfL Edewecht .
Coaching career
Between 2001 and 2005, Błacha was in charge of the first team of the SG VTB / Altjührden as a player-coach, after which he worked for the club as a youth coach. From the second half of the 2009/10 season he coached the first team of VfL Edewecht, initially again as a player-coach. After the end of his active career in 2011, he worked exclusively as a coach. For the 2013/14 season, Błacha joined the OHV Aurich. With this he was represented from the 2013/2014 season to the 2017/2018 season in the 3rd League North-West , in the 2018/2019 season in the Oberliga North Sea. Since the 2019/2020 season, the OHV Aurich has been represented in the 3rd division north-west again .
