Arman Nur (born October 11, 1971 in Yerevan , Armenian SSR , USSR ) is an Armenian designer, jeweler, sculptor and painter.

Life

Arman Nur was born in Yerevan on October 11, 1971. He studied at the Institute for Ceramic Aesthetics in Yerevan and then at the Toros Roslin Institute for Applied Arts at the Faculty of Metal Design. He later took courses at the Gemstone Research Institute in Moscow. He received further courses at the Institute of Arts and Design in Miami.

He is the founder of Nur Design and since 2015 the owner and founder of Nur Art Gallery Yerevan.

Nur is married to Lilit Hovhannisyan and the couple have two children.

  • “The Reader” is a memorial near the Khnko-Aper National Children's Library, which was established in 2013.
  • “Childhood”, a sculpture in the garden of the Hematological Center by Professor Yolyan, placed in 2017.
  • “Seven Wells”; the fountain was installed in 2010.
  • “Artist”, sculpture, “Open Music Festival” prize.
  • “Nran Hatik”, sculpture, prize of the Children's Theater Festival.
  • "Let it be the light", sculpture, ecumenical prize of the international film festival "Golden Apricot"
  • "Swallow", sculpture, National Music Award
  • "Fly"; was awarded the Lorenzo Il Magnifico Gold Medal at the Florence Contemporary Art Biennale 2017.

Awards

During his artistic career, Nur received a number of prestigious awards from Armenia and abroad, including in 2012 the Gold Medal of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia and the Moses of Chores Medal of the President of the Republic of Armenia. In October 2017 Nur received first prize with the gold medal of the International Biennale for Contemporary Art in Florence, Italy for the sculptures “Fly” and “Evolution”.

In January 2019 Arman Nur's sculpture "Jesus" won the "Critics Award" in the Bibart 2018/2019 International Art Biennale, Bari, Italy.
