Oliver Schmitt (born August 11, 1973 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Schmitt was part of the Bundesliga team Fortuna Düsseldorf in the 1996/97 season . For the Rhinelander he played two games in the upper house of German football, he was brought to his debut by coach Aleksandar Ristić on the 2nd match day. In the 4-0 defeat against Borussia Dortmund he was substituted on for Vladimir Pasic in the 69th minute of the game when the score was 2-0. The next use took place on the 17th match day against Hamburger SV , when he came on in the 68th minute of the game for Sergej Juran . The game was lost 2-1. At this time, Rudolf Wojtowicz had taken over the office on the sidelines of Fortuna. It was Schmitt's last Bundesliga appearance. After the season that Fortuna ended in 16th place - thus as a relegated team - he switched to the amateur field at Germania Teveren . He later played for FC Hennigsdorf and SSV Reutlingen .
