Armand Meffre

Armand Meffre (born March 16, 1929 in Maubec , Département Vaucluse , † January 22, 2009 in Auxerre ) was a French actor and playwright .

Life

Meffre came to the acting profession in 1956 and has appeared on stage, on the radio, on television and occasionally in films; he also wrote a number of stage plays. From 1960 he was engaged in theaters in Paris; thanks to his knowledge of Italian, he was also in demand as a translator of plays.

He played one of his most famous roles in the French TV western series Fortune (1967). As a novelist, he appeared with Ceux qui ne dansent pas sont priés d'évacuer la piste (1989, Éditions Actes Sud).

He was married to his colleague Pomme Meffre .
