Armando González (marathon runner)

Armando González , full name Armando J. González Iguini , (born April 20, 1940 in Montevideo ) is a former Uruguayan athlete .

Career

The 1.72 meter tall González was active in the marathon discipline . At the South American Athletics Championships in 1967 he was South American champion. The run time of 2:35:43 hours remained his career best. He was a member of the Uruguayan Olympic squad at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City . However , he ended the marathon competition early.
