Armando Malet

Armando R. Malet (born March 21, 1905 in Montevideo , † 1982 ) was a Uruguayan politician .

Armando Malet, who belonged to the Partido Colorado , had in the 36th and 37th legislative periods as representative of the department of Montevideo from February 15, 1951 to October 5, 1954, from February 15, 1955 to March 2, 1955 and from 6. June 1956 to June 18, 1957 for the Sublema Batllismo 15 held a titular mandate as a member of the Cámara de Representantes . From 1954 to 1955 he was director of Montevideo and from March 1, 1955 to June 5, 1956, he held the office of Minister of Economics and Finance of Uruguay for the first time. From 1969 to 1970, the attorney at law Malet managed the Banco de la República Oriental del Uruguay (BROU). In this position followed from April 2, 1970 to October 26, 1970 a second term. Malet was also president of Banco Central del Uruguay (BCU) in 1970 . Finally, Malet held the position of Minister of Defense from November 1, 1972 to February 7, 1973.
