Armando Manzo Ponce (born October 16, 1958 in Mexico City ) is a retired Mexican football player on the position of defender . In July 2008 he became sports director at the Jaguares de Chiapas . He is the twin brother of Agustín Manzo .

Life

In his first first division season 1978/79 Armando Manzo played for Tampico-Madero FC , but joined his hometown club América a year later , with whom he actively won the championship in the 1983/84 and 1984/85 seasons and the next triumph in the PRODE 85 also belonged to the roster. After eight years with America, he first moved to Club Necaxa for the 1987/88 season , before spending the last three years of his active career in northern Mexico: first one season (1988/89) with the Cobras Juárez and the last two seasons with CF Monterrey , in whose service he let his active career end in the 1990/91 season.

National team

Manzo made his debut in the dress of the Mexican national team on March 18, 1980 in a game against Honduras, which was won 1-0. His last international match took place on May 17, 1986 against England (0: 3).

After that, Manzo was also part of the squad of the Mexican national team at the 1986 World Cup held in his own country, but was not used there.
