Agustín Manzo

Agustín Manzo Ponce (born October 16, 1958 in Mexico City ) is a retired Mexican football player on the position of a striker . He is the twin brother of Armando Manzo .

Manzo received his first professional contract in 1976 with his hometown club, Club América . About stations at Puebla FC (1980/81 season) and Deportivo Toluca (1981 to 1984) Manzo came back to the capital , where he was under contract with CD Cruz Azul between 1984 and 1989 . He spent his last season in the Mexican Primera División at Tampico-Madero FC (1989/90).

National team

His first international game for the Mexican national soccer team completed Manzo on January 21, 1979 in a friendly game against the Soviet Union , which was played in Los Angeles and was lost 1-0. He played his most memorable games in 1980 in two encounters with Honduras : in the 1-0 victory in Tegucigalpa on March 18, Manzo was sent off and at the next meeting on April 8 in Toluca , he scored two goals for a 5-0 victory his team. Manzo scored his other two international goals a week later on April 15 in a 4-2 draw against Guatemala .
