Armor Lux ( Breton armor = coast; Latin lux = light, homophone to French luxe = luxury) is the brand name under which the Breton company Bonneterie D'Armor operates and sells its products. Armor Lux is primarily active in the clothing industry. The company is based in Quimper . The company was founded in 1938 by the German-Swiss Walter Hubacher as a factory for jersey days . In 1993 it was taken over by Jean-Guy Le Floc'h. The main product and trademark of the company are traditionally fisherman's or sailor shirts ( Marinières ): long-sleeved shirts made of elastic cotton (interlock) with maritime stripes in blue and white and a boat neckline . Armor Lux manufactures in Brittany as well as outside Europe, for example in Tunisia and Morocco .

The annual turnover in 2014 was € 95 million (2013: € 100 million). About 90% of sales are achieved through domestic sales. The company produces 40% of its collections in three plants in France, around half of which at two production sites in Quimper. Armor Lux employs 550 people and has over 60 company-owned stores worldwide. The products are sold in these as well as in department stores .

Since the mid-1990s, the company is also active in the field of clothing and has since 2004, among others, the French Post Office , the National Police , the region Brittany and the Paris airports equipped with working clothes. Since 2014 it has also been supplying the uniforms for the national railway company SNCF .
