Plaisir is a French municipality with 31,419 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Yvelines in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Versailles and is the capital of the canton of the same name . The inhabitants are called Plaisirois .

The city is 13 kilometers west of Versailles .
economy
Plaisir is the location of the aviation group Zodiac , the small car manufacturer Acrea and the French headquarters of the furniture store Ikea .
Buildings
The Plaisir Castle got its present appearance at the end of 16./Anfang of the 17th century by the family Le Tellier. Like its castle park , it has been under monument protection as a Monument historique since 1961 and has belonged to the municipality since 1976.
