Viroflay is a French municipality with 16,129 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the southwest of Paris in the department of Yvelines in the region Ile-de-France . It is 14 kilometers from the center of Paris. The inhabitants are called Viroflaysiens .
geography
The city of Viroflay connects to Versailles to the east . It is flanked by two forest areas, in the north by the Forêt de Fausses-Reposes, in the south by the Forêt de Meudon. Neighboring municipalities of Viroflay are Chaville in the east, Vélizy-Villacoublay in the south, Versailles in the west and Ville-d'Avray in the north.

The RER C stops at Viroflay - Rive Gauche station . Viroflay also has another train station (Viroflay - Rive Droite), which is served by the Transilien Paris Saint-Lazare local line. The bus route 171 from Pont de Sèvres (change option Métrolinie 9 ) to Versailles also runs through Viroflay. The city borders directly on Chaville (92370).
