Bougival is a French municipality with 8699 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Yvelines in the region Ile-de-France .

It is located in the canton of La Celle-Saint-Cloud and belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Germain-en-Laye . The municipality is located about 15 kilometers west of Paris city ​​center on the Seine . The Route nationale 13 and the Route départementale 312 run through the village.

Bougival station is served by Transilien priority trains on the Paris St. Lazare - Bécon-les-Bruyères - Saint-Cloud - Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche line.

The composer Georges Bizet died in Bougival in 1875 , the Russian writer Ivan Sergeyevich Turgenev in 1883 and the singer Mistinguett in 1956 .
